Authorities said the initial report came in at approximately 2 p.m. Sunday and only provided a partial license plate number. Brentwood police got aid from Pittsburg Police Department and neighboring agencies in Contra Consta and the Bay Area to locate and stop the suspected vehicle after a county-wide Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert was issued.

James Llarena, 21, was taken in custody and the female victim received medical care for “injuries consistent with a physical altercation,” said police.
