Storm Tracker Forecast: Warm today, but cooling this weekend

It’s a good idea to open up your windows as you throw on light layers, grab your sunglasses and pack some water before you head out the door Thursday. High pressure to our southeast will keep us sunny, dry and warm, but a cooler system off the Coast of Oregon will keep our high temperatures in check today and Friday. A more substantial cool system will drive a cooling trend and the potential for limited showers across our region this weekend. Skies have cleared out overnight following scattered shower and thunderstorm activity just south of the Oregon border yesterday. Temperatures are starting out in the 60’s to low 70’s in the valley, 50’s to mid 60’s in the foothills, and 40’s to 50’s in most mountain zones this morning. Winds are out of the northeast to 10mph early today. Northwest winds to 10mph are expected in the northern zones of the valley, and south winds to 10mph are projected for the mid-valley. We’ll have sunny skies through the day, and high temperatures will end up similar to very slightly cooler than Wednesday. Valley areas will top out in the low to mid 90’s, foothill areas will range from the 70’s to upper 80’s, Sierra locations will range from the 70’s to lower 80’s, and we’ll have mid 80’s in the Northern Mountains this afternoon.
