Robert Somerville sentenced for the 2022 shooting death of a Stockton fire captain

STOCKTON, Calif. – The man convicted of killing a Stockton Fire Department captain will serve 15 years to life for the murder, officials said Tuesday. A judge in 2023 found Robert Somerville guilty of second-degree murder for the 2022 shooting death of Vidal “Max” Fortuna. He was responding to a dumpster fire outside of Somerville’s business when he was shot.
