Brentwood police arrested two men and a juvenile last week after finding the trio had loaded guns in the car and were all on felony probation.

Officers pulled over a vehicle at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday near Lone Tree Way and Highway 4 for allegedly having expired registration. The officer engaged with the driver and three passengers: two adults and one juvenile.

One of the adult passengers, 44-year-old John Shurn of Oakland, was on felony probation from Alameda County. The juvenile passenger was on probation from Alameda County, while the third passenger, 42-year-old Kenny Hampton of Oakland, is also on felony probation from Alameda County.

All three have prior felony convictions and are prohibited from possessing firearms.

During the stop, the juvenile told the officer there were two loaded guns in the car. The officer subsequently located the guns and safely took the juvenile, Shurn and Hampton into custody.

All three were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and related charges. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall and Shurn and Hampton were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
