Stockton man arrested in connection to one of Lodi’s large commercial fires

(FOX40.COM) — The Lodi Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to one of Sunday’s two large commercial fires.

Francisco Castillo, 41, of Stockton was arrested in connection to the Pacific Coast Producers fire that burned in the 700 block of South Stockton Street.

The fire caused tremendous damage to structures at the industrial facility and required resources from four other fire departments to be called in for mutual aid.

Castillo is facing arson, loitering and possession of drug paraphernalia charges. He has been booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

Investigators are still working to gather information on the San Joaquin Sulphur Co & Ag Supply fire that started on the same afternoon as the Pacific Coast Producers fire.

The fire on the 700 block of North Sacramento Street started in a pallet stack and blazed into a 4-alarm fire, according to the Lodi Fire Department.

After dumping thousands of gallons of water on the fire it was eventually extinguished and resulted in some firefighters experiencing heat exhaustion.
