Woman arrested, charged with Brentwood Peet’s Coffee stabbing

( KRON ) — Police have arrested a suspect accused of stabbing a person outside Peet’s Coffee in Brentwood on Sept. 5, the Brentwood Police Department announced.

Police responded to the coffee shop just after noon. The victim said he was “unexpectedly attacked by an unknown suspect.”

At first, the victim thought he was punched, but soon realized he was bleeding from a cut inflicted by a sharp object, BPD said. He was hospitalized. Police did not provide an update on his condition.

The suspect was located near the scene and identified as Melody Boyd, 33, of Antioch. She was arrested and later charged with assault with a deadly weapon by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Police did not say what object the suspect used to stab the victim.

Peet’s Coffee is located at 5411 Lone Tree Way, Suite L-130.
