Antioch: Police Arrest 2 People, Seize Illegal Guns

Bay City News

Antioch officers took guns off the streets and arrested two people earlier this week, according to police.

On Sunday, an officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on San Carlos Drive. The officer contacted the driver, who reportedly was “less than cooperative with the stop and appeared extremely nervous.”

When the officer removed the driver from the vehicle, a loaded stolen firearm allegedly fell from inside the vehicle and landed on the ground. The driver was arrested.

Around 11 p.m. Monday, officers pulled over a vehicle near G and W. 10th streets. Police said the driver showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly found an unregistered loaded firearm, methamphetamine, a scale, and prescription medications.
