Unseasonable October Heat Grips Sacramento Region, Cooling Relief Expected Mid-Week

Another scorcher is on tap for Northern California as well-above-normal temperatures continue to bake the region. With triple-digit highs expected today, widespread Moderate to Major HeatRisk affects the Valley, Delta, and Foothills, prompting a Heat Advisory through 11 p.m. tonight.

Monday will bring more of the same, with temperatures in the upper 90s to low 100s, particularly in the Delta and Sacramento areas. Slight chances of mountain showers may provide brief relief in the Sierra Crest, but significant precipitation remains unlikely.

A gradual cooldown begins Tuesday, as a Pacific Northwest trough moves in, bringing temperatures closer to normal by mid-week, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
