This week’s “Mystery Photo” Has a group of students in their finest attire at a dance. Who are they, where are they and what’s going on?. Last Week’s “Mystery Photo” showed crews working on the cleanup of the Royster Tire Fire site of South MacArthur Boulevard in December of 2003. Crews from Sukut Construction protective clothing and breathing gear use a backhoe to fill a truck with contaminated soil as another load is removed from the site of the tire fire as cleanup continued on the fire that began in August 1998 and burned more than 8 million tires. The fire was finally extinguished in December 2000. The California Integrated Waste Management Board spent $700,000 to remove the contaminated dirt from the property.
