The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Red Flag Warning for critical fire weather conditions due to low humidity and gusty north winds in the western Central Valley from 10 AM Tuesday to 4 PM Wednesday. The strongest winds, reaching 20-30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH, are anticipated across the Delta and far western regions.
While winds are currently decreasing, an inside slider pattern is expected to bring dry conditions and gusty winds through Thursday as high pressure builds over Northern California. A Wind Advisory is also in effect for the same areas, with peak wind gusts forecasted at 15-30 MPH in the Valley on Tuesday and 20-35 MPH on Wednesday.
Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to low 70s in the Valley and 40s to upper 60s in the mountains. Following this windy stretch, conditions will settle down for the remainder of the week, providing a brief respite with seasonable temperatures and continued dry weather.
