(FOX40.COM) — A quick-moving storm is expected to bring wet, unsettled weather to Northern California by Veterans Day.
According to FOX40’s Chief meteorologist Adam Epstein, Monday’s weather temperature is forecast to be 63 degrees with a likely chance of rain.
“Any parades might get the old trope, rain on the parade,” Epstein said.
The National Weather Service forecasts that some parts of Northern California, like Eureka, could see 1-1.5 inches of rain. Areas like Sacramento, Placerville, Marysville, and Stockton could see up to .25 inches of rain.
In addition, snow levels in the Sierra Nevada may reach 5000-6000 feet. NWS advised drivers to look out for slick roads and plan for a longer commute than normal.
The upcoming holiday also has a 15-20% chance of seeing afternoon and early evening thunderstorms in the Sacramento Valley and Sierra foothills, north of US-50, according to NWS.
Any thunderstorms that develop could produce lightning, gusty winds, brief heavy rain, and the potential for small hail.
