A fast-moving rainstorm is set to impact Northern California early Monday morning, as warming air and building south winds continue through the evening. The storm will bring moderate rainfall, particularly in wind-favored areas, with 1 to 2 inches expected at higher elevations. Coastal regions can expect lighter rainfall, ranging from 0.15 to 0.4 inches.
Winds will pick up throughout the night, with gusts reaching 25 to 35 mph by midnight. There’s a chance of isolated gusts over 45 mph at higher peaks in Humboldt and Del Norte counties. Showers, and possibly isolated thunderstorms, will continue through Monday evening. Another system is forecasted to arrive Wednesday, bringing further rainfall and gusty winds.
