A fast-moving weather system is bringing rain and mountain snow across Northern California today. Showers are moving eastward, with areas near Interstate 80 and counties like Shasta and Tehama seeing steady precipitation. The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 4 a.m. Tuesday for elevations above 3,000 feet in the Coast Range and above 5,000 feet in the Sierra, with 2 to 5 inches of snow expected.
By Tuesday, drier and warmer weather will settle in, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s in the Valley and foothills. However, dense morning fog may develop mid to late week, particularly in the Delta and Valley regions. Another unsettled weather pattern could return by the weekend.
