Antioch police release image of car wanted in fatal hit-and-run

ANTIOCH, Calif. ( KRON ) — An update now on a deadly hit-and-run investigation in Antioch. Police are releasing a photo of the car (below) that investigators ultimately believe killed a woman crossing the street back in October .

More than two months after Patricia Redd was killed using the crosswalk at Lone Tree Way and Canada Valley Road in Antioch, the police department released a photo of the car involved.

“It’s unfortunate that she’s gone,” Redd’s sister Terri said. “They’re doing the best they can.”

Investigators sat on the image for weeks before releasing it to the public to confirm it was in fact the car that struck Terri Redd’s 54-year-old sister on Oct. 12.

This is especially frustrating for Terri, who has mourned her late sister at the crash site. She is now grateful the photo will reach more eyes.

“They just tell me that it’s a white sedan,” Terri said.

Investigators are looking for either a newer model Toyota Camry or Lexus. Patricia, who was homeless, died from the injuries she sustained that night 11 days after she was hit.
