The California Highway Patrol has canceled a Silver Alert in several Northern California counties after a 98-year-old man went missing Monday night in Richmond.
The CHP deleted its social media post and offered no information for the man, who was reportedly located. A dispatcher for the Richmond Police Department said he was located Tuesday morning.
The CHP said the man was last seen about 1 p.m. on Colette Drive and O’Brien Road driving a 2017 red Toyota Corolla with a California personalized license plate.
The alert was issued just after 2 a.m. on behalf of the Richmond Police Department, and the advisory extends beyond Contra Costa County into Alameda, Napa, Solano and Yolo counties.
The CHP did not disclose why the man was at risk.
A missing person must meet certain criteria before the CHP activates a Silver Alert as requested by a local law enforcement agency. The victim must be at least 65 years old, may be in danger due to health or suspicious reasons and the investigating agency has exhausted all its resources.
