Tracy burglary suspect found hiding in dumpster

(FOX40.COM) — Two people were arrested in connection with a burglary on Saturday in Tracy, including a suspect who attempted to hide in a dumpster, the Tracy Police Department said.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a burglary around 7:30 p.m. on Paradise Road near N Chrisman Road.

Police said the officers spotted a vehicle pulling a box trailer similar to one seen on video leaving the burglary site.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle, a 52-year-old Tracy resident, was detained “without further incident.”

Police said the passenger, a 31-year-old Banta resident, got out of the car and ran toward a field near the warehouse.

With the help of a police dog and a heat-vision camera on a police plane belonging to the Modesto Police Department, officers found the suspect hiding in a dumpster.

The two suspects were booked into San Joaquin County Jail.
