(FOX40.COM) — A traffic stop in Northern California led to the discovery of a felon in possession of drugs and a gun, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
At around 9:21 p.m. on Sunday, FPD pulled over a vehicle in the 4300 block of Central Place. The vehicle had two occupants. The driver was a man and the passenger was a woman.

According to FPD , a records check showed the driver was on active California Department of Corrections parole. Police searched the vehicle and said they found a backpack belonging to the driver. It reportedly contained bagged-up marijuana and money indicative of narcotic sales.
Officers also located a loaded handgun underneath the front passenger’s seat. Both driver and passenger were arrested and booked into Solano County Jail.
