Elk Grove police arrest three suspects in mailbox burglary

ELK GROVE, California — Three individuals were detained early Monday morning after being caught breaking into a community mailbox, according to the Elk Grove Police Department. Officers discovered stolen mail, burglary tools, fabricated mailbox keys, and narcotics in the suspects’ vehicle.The suspects, 40-year-olds Lom Nguyen and Robert Lee, along with 34-year-old Thaveesak Kham, all from Stockton, were booked into the Main Jail, stated the department. The arrests were made possible due to alert witnesses and proactive police work, ensuring no additional victims, according to the press release.The Elk Grove Police Department advises residents to protect themselves from mail theft by retrieving mail daily, using delivery confirmation services like USPS Informed Delivery, holding mail when away, and staying vigilant.
