Last night’s routine patrol in Galt turned into a scene of a crime briefly unfolding. Officers from the Galt Police Department were called to the intersection of Creekside Way and Meadowview Drive at 7:53 PM, responding to a report of a male suspect openly displaying a firearm in public. The social media post from the department revealed that upon their arrival, they encountered and promptly detained a 17-year-old juvenile who was found to be carrying a loaded, short-barreled AR-style rifle hidden in his waistband.
According to the social media update by the Galt Police Department, the young suspect didn’t just have the firearm in his possession, but he was also booked on multiple felony charges. These charges not only addressed the incident but also included an outstanding felony warrant from Amador County.
