ANTIOCH, CA — After more than four decades of serving hearty meals and strong drinks, Mac’s Old House at 3100 E. 18th Street in Antioch will close its doors on June 22, 2025. Known for its iconic minestrone soup and old-school charm, the beloved restaurant announced the news Friday via social media.
Founders Gary and Rick opened Mac’s in 1983, bringing Bertola’s-style hospitality from Oakland to the East Bay. “We’ve weathered recessions, a pandemic, and ever-changing times,” their post read. “This little house has served well over three million meals.”
While the closure marks the end of an era, the owners noted the property is for sale—leaving hope for a new chapter.Source: Mac’s Old House via Facebook
