Stockton declines in youth unemployment, but still has higher rate than national average

Gen Z — the first generation never to know the world without the internet — is having a tougher time entering the workforce than Generation X and Millennials did.

That’s based on a U.S. Census data analysis that found California had the worst unemployment rate in the country, second only to Mississippi.

It’s not all bad in the Employers.io survey. Stockton stood out for having the biggest jump of any U.S. city, with youth finding jobs after the 2008 recession and COVID-19 pandemic…
