SACRAMENTO, Calif. — May continues to see lots of changes day to day and after a brief warm up to kick off the weekend, we will see cooling, showers and even a fire risk to cap things off.
Warmer weather will move in Friday and bring the temperatures above average but not record breaking. Records this time of year are in the upper 90s up to 100 degrees and we stay far away from those numbers over the next 10 days. Most of the day will be fine with temps in the 60s and 70s and low 80s. The mid to upper 80s last from about 2-7 p.m. and then we will see fairly quick cooling into the 70s by sunset with a fresh onshore wind.
Saturday will see more onshore winds early in the day and that will keep temperatures down for the region. Expect highs in the valley to drop by about 10 degrees and remain in the upper 70s. The Sierra will also see these temperature changes along with a threat of afternoon showers and flurries at higher elevations. Totals from rain will be very low so the impacts will be minor but strong winds in the Sierra can be expected…
