Clearing clouds and pleasant Tuesday temperatures

Today: Morning clouds will decrease with plenty of sunshine expected across Southern Oregon and Northern California for the afternoon. Winds will turn pretty breezy for the coast through the day. Late-day breezes will develop for many inland areas. High temperatures will be near to slightly below normal with highs in the lower 70s in our westside valleys of Southern Oregon and Northern California. In the Klamath Basin, highs will be in the middle 60s. Along the coast, highs will be noticeably milder getting into the lower 60s.

Extended: On Wednesday, we’ll start the day with widespread sunshine, but clouds will increase throughout the day. High temperatures will be warmer for everyone though. A weak storm system will bring the slight chance for showers to Southern Oregon Wednesday night into Thursday. Winds will likely pick up for most spots by Thursday. However, it doesn’t look like a washout if you’re heading to the first day of BOATNIK.

On Friday, we’ll see partly cloudy skies with the potential for some pop-up showers and thunderstorms along and east of the Cascades and into Siskiyou County. Coverage of showers and storms looks to stay pretty isolated though. As we head into the holiday weekend, Saturday will likely be dry for everyone with warming temperatures. Sunday will be even warmer. However, we’ll start to see the potential for afternoon showers and thunderstorms developing for much of the region. Chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue for Memorial Day. It’s possible the coverage of development will increase a bit too. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the forecast for Memorial Day weekend so be sure to check back for updates…
