NORTHSTATE, Calif. — As Memorial Day weekend approaches, Caltrans urges drivers to plan ahead and stay safe with construction and maintenance activities ongoing. Although many crews will be off for the holiday, several work zones will remain active.
Travelers should expect delays through 3 p.m. Friday, and again starting Wednesday, as construction zones will be active during the holiday weekend.
In Siskiyou County, northbound Interstate 5 (I-5), near Mount Shasta, is reduced to one lane, likely causing delays. In Tehama County, State Route 99 near South Avenue is under 24/7 traffic control, and I-5 rest areas north of Red Bluff remain closed.
