Elk Grove man, 30, identified as victim in violent Sacramento police chase crash

The man killed when a fleeing parolee crashed into a half-dozen cars on a busy Florin Road while eluding Sacramento police Saturday has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Huynh Huu Duc Nguyen, or Duc Nguyen, of Elk Grove, was 30. His car was one of at least six vehicles involved in a violent collision at Florin Road and Greenhaven Drive triggered by Daniel Cunningham, 34, of Sacramento, said Sacramento Police Department officials.

Nguyen immigrated to the United States from Vietnam four years ago, according to news reports. On Monday, a tiny memorial to Nguyen sat on the street corner where he lost his life.
