Lodi police to host DUI checkpoint

“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” said LPD Sergeant Dan Bristow. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”

The checkpoint is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on June 28. The exact location was not disclosed; however, LPD said DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.

LPD said the primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road. Additionally, police warned that driving is not just from alcohol.
