Yesterday, residents of Brentwood were startled as a burglary at One Stop Smoke Shop led to a dramatic police chase. In a post shared on social media by the City of Brentwood Police Department, which has since spread across local news, authorities received reports of suspects trying to pry their way into the Lone Tree Way business around 2:30 AM, their illicit efforts caught on surveillance. Using crowbars to break in, the perpetrators were spotted by a fast-acting police sergeant just minutes later.
The situation escalated quickly when the suspects, clad in nondescript all-black attire, crammed into a getaway vehicle and slammed into a police car while attempting to make their escape. Although there was no harm to the person, the incident echoes the hazards law enforcement officers endure in their line of duty.
