Stockton Man Arrested for Attempted Murder and Arson After Probation Officer Suffers Burns in Confrontation

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Stockton last Thursday on charges of attempted murder and arson after a probation officer was burned during a confrontation. The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m., when police responded to assist San Joaquin County Probation Officers struggling with the suspect, identified as Adam Lopez, who was reportedly carrying a flammable liquid, as reported by the Stockton Police Department.

The Stockton Police Department said in a social media post that Lopez ignited the gas, causing “significant burns” to one of the probation officers.
