BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. — A Stockton resident has been arrested in connection with a malicious act of arson that occurred on June 29, 2025, in Palermo.
The fire, which burned one acre of vegetation and threatened nearby structures, was determined to be intentionally set, according to CAL FIRE/Butte County Fire Department.
Following an extensive investigation involving witness interviews and surveillance footage from both Butte and San Joaquin Counties, CAL FIRE officers identified 50-year-old Raymond Lee Wilson as the suspect. Investigators revealed that Wilson traveled from Stockton to Butte County with two other individuals on June 28.
