Stockton man arrested for DUI after admitting to smoking cannabis

CORNING, Calif. — A 35-year-old Stockton man was arrested early Saturday morning after admitting to smoking cannabis just before being pulled over by police.

According to the Corning Police Department, an officer observed a white Honda sedan failing to stop at a stop sign on Everett Freeman Way at 1:17 a.m. on August 9, 2025. The officer initiated a traffic stop for the violation.

During the investigation, the driver, identified as Danny Long Mey, admitted to smoking cannabis right before the stop. Police said Mey displayed “the objective physical conditions of being under the influence of cannabis” and failed to satisfactorily complete a series of field sobriety tests…
