Oakley Police Say Man Dies After Striking 7-Eleven Building

The Oakley Police Department say a man died while suffering a medical emergency and struck the 7 Eleven building just before 6:30 am Monday.

On August 11, 2025, at 6:29AM the Oakley Police Department was dispatched to the 7-Eleven at 2001 Laurel Road for the report of a vehicle striking the building. Oakley Police officers arrived on-scene at 6:31AM and found a solo-vehicle collision into the building and an unresponsive 57-year-old male still in the driver’s seat. Oakley Police officers removed the male from the vehicle and determined he was experiencing a medical emergency; officers and medical personnel began taking immediate life saving measures. He succumbed to his condition at the scene and was pronounced deceased.

The preliminary investigation revealed the male arrived at the 7-Eleven in his personal vehicle and made a purchase inside the store. He got back into his vehicle, exited onto Laurel, and started to drive east. He then drove up and over the sidewalk adjacent to the store, struck the building with his vehicle, and came to a stop, which is where our officers found him…
