Livermore man arrested after police dog sniffs out meth

(KRON) – A Livermore man was arrested on drug charges after a police dog smelled the aroma of drugs, according to authorities.

On Aug. 8, a 2006 BMW pulled into a parking lot in the 2900 block of Las Positas Road, where a Livermore Police Department officer and their police dog, K-9 Drake, were. For unknown reasons, the K-9 Drake conducted a free-air sniff around the BMW and alerted the officer that drugs were in the car.

Livermore PD said 14.85 grams of methamphetamine were located inside a fanny pack in a probable cause search.
