On Thursday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a head-on crash on SR-4 near Discovery Bay Blvd in the Town of Discovery Bay.
The crash occurred 10:21 am between Discovery Bay Blvd and the Old River Bridge on SR-4. While responding, it was reported that at least 1 person was trapped while CPR was being performed on another victim from the crash. The roadway was blocked.
By 10:30 am, Engine 99 arrived on scene reporting heavy damage. A short time later, it was stated at least 1 person deceased and another person in critical condition. By 10:45 am, extrication was complete and a medical helicopter is transporting the victim to an area hospital…
