Three structures were damaged in a wind-driven grass fire near Riverbank, including one that was a total loss.
The vegetation fire Wednesday afternoon began in an encampment on the south side of the Stanislaus River and spread upslope to the nearby structures, the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire District said in a post. Windy conditions were a factor.
