Spartans Win Nine Individual Titles In The Pool

STOCKTON, Calif.—Six Spartans won nine individual races on Saturday as the San José State women’s swimming and diving team won duals over Pacific and UC Santa Cruz at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool on the Pacific campus.

  • Three Spartans won six individual titles, starting with Vilma Lindberg who won the first individual title in the 100 breaststroke with a season-best 1:03.47.
  • Lindberg also won the 200 breaststroke at 2:18.28, a season-best for her.
  • Ela Freiman won the 200 butterfly at 2:03.38 and the 200 individual medley at 2:04.78
  • Madeline Kwok won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving titles.
  • Dalton Sickon swam a season-best 23.59 to win the 500 freestyle.
  • Genevieve George won the 200 backstroke at 2:03.57.
  • Lillie Grover won the 100 butterfly at 56.23, her first individual title as a Spartan

The Spartans defeated the Tigers, 162-127, and the Banana Slugs, 198-92.

UP NEXT – The team will train for the next few weeks before competing at the Phill Hansel Invitational, hosted by the University of Houston, November 19-21.
