Four Arrested in Modesto on Kidnapping and Assault Charges After Brazen Attack

Four individuals have been taken into custody in Modesto following an incident of assault and kidnapping, as reported by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. On October 14, deputies were called to the 1100 block of Chicago Ave around 5:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a male being attacked. The Sheriff’s Air Support Unit played a pivotal role, spotting the getaway vehicles, which allowed ground units to promptly apprehend the suspects attempting to flee the scene.

According to the Sheriff’s Office social media post, the victim, who was working outside his residence at the time of the assault, was physically confronted and assaulted by the group. They then tried to violently drag him towards a vehicle, threatening his life. Recognizing one of the assailants from a previous disagreement, the victim was able to provide a key identification leading to the suspects’ capture. He was later taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover fully from his injuries.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the Sheriff’s Office joined the case to further the investigation. The four suspects now face serious felony charges, including kidnapping, criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy, in addition to home invasion.
