Lodi voters cast ballots as Prop 50 threatens to divide their city

LODI, Calif. — If Proposition 50 passes, the city of Lodi could find itself divided in more ways than one.

The Northern California city of about 68,000 residents would be split into three congressional districts — 7, 8, and 9 — with one of those dividing lines running straight through the intersection of Kettleman Lane and Church Street.

“I know how dumb it sounds, but I thought of Hunger Games,” said voter Ernie Hernandez. “I was like, ‘OK, this is going to be some real-life Hunger Games stuff, so we’re going to see who treats who better.’”…
