DUI checkpoint in Riverbank leads to arrests, recovery of ghost guns

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office says a Halloween night DUI checkpoint in Riverbank led to several arrests and the discovery of two illegally manufactured “ghost” guns.

According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, the Major Accident Investigation Team conducted the checkpoint on the evening of Oct. 31 as part of ongoing efforts to reduce impaired driving and improve roadway safety. About 870 vehicles passed through during the operation.
