Highway 4 Horror Leaves Antioch Man Clinging to Life on Hillcrest Ramp

A 63-year-old Antioch man was fighting for his life yesterday after he was struck by a vehicle on the on-ramp to eastbound Highway 4 at Hillcrest Avenue, police said. The evening collision left the man lying in the roadway before paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he remained in critical condition.

According to The Mercury News, officers arrived at the on-ramp at about 7:15 PM and found the victim down in the lanes. The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, the outlet reported. Police say the case remains under investigation.
