San Joaquin RTD to get new hybrid-electric buses

(FOX40.COM) — Bus rides in San Joaquin County are about to get a lot cleaner, officials say. More than $10 million in federal funding is headed to the San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD), allowing the agency to add nine new hybrid-electric buses to its fleet with the goal of reducing emissions and improving service reliability.

Congressman Josh Harder says the $10.3 million investment comes after years of hearing concerns over air quality in the region.
