Community organizers mobilize support, resources after Stockton party shooting

STOCKTON, Calif. — Just days after a deadly shooting at a Stockton party, the community is still sitting with its grief as local organizers and outside groups work to bring support to those affected.

“Shock, deep hurt … it’s heavy, it is extremely heavy, and so … a lot of grief, a lot of tears,” said Toni McNeil of Concrete Development Inc.

McNeil, who works with young adults to prevent violence and connect them with services, said people will need time to heal. She said her group is creating space for the community to talk about how the shooting has affected them and to share their concerns…
