CHP crime suppression teams expanded in Stockton after mass shooting

STOCKTON, Calif. — Gov. Gavin Newsom announced an expanded deployment of California Highway Patrol teams in the Stockton area.

The move comes about a month after a mass shooting in Stockton killed four people and injured 13 others. Officials said the redeployment builds on partnerships with city officials and local law enforcement that have reduced crime in other major California cities.
