(KRON) — A man who was allegedly reaching for a high-powered rifle during a traffic stop was shot and killed by Brentwood police on Christmas Eve. According to the Brentwood Police Department, officers pulled a vehicle over in the area of Balfour Road Wednesday night at around 10:55 p.m. for a suspected DUI.
The driver, described as a man in his 40s, was the vehicle’s sole occupant.
While speaking to the driver, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, Brentwood PD said officers located a high-powered rifle in the vehicle.
