The Central Valley Water Board is asking for public comments on closing a cleanup case at Canepa’s Car Wash Pacific, 6230 Pacific Avenue, Stockton. The site used to be a gas station, and a fuel leak was found back in 1993. Over 1,900 gallons of gasoline were removed from the soil and groundwater between 1994 and 2008. Experts now say the small amount left underground doesn’t pose a significant risk and will naturally break down over time.
