Counterfeit keys, stolen mail and credit cards found after Stockton mail theft arrests, police say

STOCKTON, Calif. — Two people from Stockton are behind bars after police say they were stealing mail across the city.

The arrests stem from an investigation that started Feb. 18, when Councilmember Michele Padilla forwarded a Facebook post to police raising concerns about repeated mail theft in her district.

The post included a photo of a red Kia Soul sedan with a license plate, but it didn’t contain video evidence of a theft or images of suspects…
