2 Rescued After Boat Runs Aground on Oneida Lake

SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. — A boat ran aground after striking the breakwater at the entrance to the Erie Canal on Oneida Lake.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office reported that the Marine Patrol Unit responded at about 11:55 a.m. on June 9 after being flagged down near Buoy 107 by a passing personal watercraft.

Deputies found that the two people on board, Richard R. Ressler, 71, and Lavinia W. Yoder, 70, both from Pennsylvania, were not injured…
