MANLIUS, N.Y. — There are six new pickleball courts in the Village of Manlius, and village officials are welcoming neighbors to join a grand opening tournament on July 4.
The pickleball courts are located on the old soccer field between the Village Centre and Willowbrook Drive. Ahead of the tournament the courts are a first-come first-serve basis operating from dawn to dusk. After the tournament, village officials say some courts will be reserved for the Village’s and the Town of Manlius’ programming. That will include future leagues, lessons, and tournaments.
The July 4 tournament will be a round-robin format comprised of seven mixed-doubles teams between two separate divisions. Those divisions will be separated by beginners/intermediate players and advanced players. The tournament begins at 9:00a.m. following a ribbon cutting ceremony…
