SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV)– After a tough start to the week following a break-in, one local ice cream shop isn’t letting that slow them down.
With temperatures soaring across Central New York and Fourth of July festivities underway, Carvel in DeWitt is staying busy, serving up cold treats and a positive attitude. Just days after multiple people broke into their store, the shop is focused on moving forward.
“It’s still unsettling. I mean, we’ve had the store now for 19 years, and I guess the good news is this is the first time that this has happened. Hopefully it will be the only time….You know, you just have to bear with it and move on,” said Jay Cartini, owner of that Carvel’s store.
“I think we were fortunate in the fact that there was an officer driving by at the right time and caught one of them coming out of the building.”…
