Proposed $425,000 sale would turn Syracuse church building into community center

A church on Syracuse’s Northside could soon be transformed into a new community hub under a proposed sale now before the courts.

Court papers filed in Onondaga County show a proposed $425,000 sale of the former St. Peter Parish Center on East Willow Street. The buyer plans to turn the building into a community center offering senior services and after-school programs for youth.

The building is currently home to the Victory Temple Fellowship Church, which leases the space. Court documents allege monthly rent payments have been inconsistent, resulting in financial hardship for the parish.
