Wildfire smoke isn’t just a breathing problem, cardiologists say it’s a heart problem too

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Central New York woke up to hazy skies again on Thursday, the sky tinted gray from wildfire smoke drifting down from Canada.

Most people know that smoky air is bad for breathing. Fewer know it can also be bad for your heart.

New York State issued an air quality health advisory covering the whole state through Wednesday and Thursday, and Syracuse is among the areas getting hit hardest.
